EVERYTHING has a purpose (warm up, corrective exercise, accessory work) so you're not left wasting time in the gym.

Let's do this

I am here to help you enjoy training again. You'll get stronger and your movement patterns will improve. But girl you will LEARN and ENJOY your time in the gym and feel like an athlete without training 3+ hours per day.

You spend 4-6 hours a week working out. It's my job to make sure you're moving without pain + getting stronger so you can enjoy the other 18-20 hours in your day.

hey you!

I'm Annie

you need an efficient + effective program that doesn't waste your time.

YOU know your way around a barbell and feel confident trying most things in the gym.

you want to learn. you need to be in know. do you have imbalances? are you truly making progress?

You just want to get strong, without pain, have a perfect squat pattern, and keep your wine consumption under control.

am I right?

this you?

what you're NOT looking for:

Your time to be wasted

A cookie cutter program

To feel stagnant, complacent, injured, unable or unsupported

To be fed b.s. answers about fitness and lifting. you want the truth and simplicity.

...so far so good?

strong body

What does 1:1 bring you?

support

mobile body

conditioning

ability + awareness

Get into + control your end ranges and prevent injury through flexibility + mobility assessments.

I am a text message away, in your corner and have YOUR best interest in mind.

A strong, balanced body is the goal. Gain strength through progressive main lifts, and strength balance testing.

Your aerobic base is the base of "fitness." If you need it, we work through energy systems development.

Up-level your mind-body connection through following tempos, intentional warm ups and performance care.

I want you to train without pain. We use assessments up front + throughout your training to determine what your body needs to achieve balance and decrease discrepancies.

assessments

flexibility, mobility, and strength balance testing

The use of these assessments is not limited to those who are injured. Using the hierarchy of needs we will determine where you're at with flexibility and mobility. Based on those results (pain or not), we will move on to testing your strength balance between difference lifts like the squat, deadlift, carry, single arm pressing and pulling.

All of this allows me to create the MOST personalized and effective program possible for you.

mobility + strength

you don't have to injured to benefit

Personality test (you get my results as well)

FLEX & MOBILITY ASSESSMENT

STRENGTH BALANCE ASSESSMENT

Deciding to do personalized training with Annie was one of the best things I've done for myself in learning HOW to lift. Annie taught me how to move correctly, she taught me to "embrace the grind" of patience and consistency. She helped me build a foundation of strength that I struggled to build on my own. I consider my time with her a wonderful learning experience and I couldn't have asked for a more encouraging, capable and learned teacher, trainer and coach. I am so thankful for her guidance, experience and expertise both in and out of the gym! In short, girl has mad skills and is wicked smart, she is 100% the REAL DEAL and I am so very glad I signed on with her a year ago.

"The amount of work you put into designing a specific program just for me, communication with me via Fitbot and text and email and posting in IG - girl you go above and beyond - it's the next best thing to having you right next to me in the gym (which would be awesome!). What you offer with all your programs is hands down the next best thing to hiring a PT in the gym and training with that person directly"
THANK YOU ANNIE! ❤

I did crossfit for 3 years. I loved it. I sadly came to the realization that it did not love me back. I stopped going. I was going to work out at home. Which looked a lot like: I’ll go for a long walk today (1 mile in I’m bored, so I stop). I’ll do this 5 round workout (do one round, kind of hate it, decide to do amrap for 10 min, then cut it to 7, then 5). You get the point, it was not going well. I liked to work out, I just needed a workout that didn’t hurt me and one that I didn’t figure out myself. Then one day I heard Annie on the Active Life podcast and she described exactly what I wanted: a program made exactly for me.

I signed up asap. I asked for 3-4 days a week instead of her usual 5, due to work schedule, and that was no problem. What Annie has given me is solid programming based on an assessment of me. She tells me exactly what she expects. In the rare instance where she isn’t 100% clear in her programming, she is easily reachable by email or text for clarity. She cheers my successes, and she doesn’t let me get away with BS. I am stronger. I haven’t maxed out lifts to know this, but in the process of cleaning the weight to do some overhead stuff I noticed the weight felt really easy, almost weightless. This is probably thanks to all the core stuff Annie forces me to do. I can do more reps with heavier weight than I used to be able to do.

If I were feeling adventurous, I would go over to the machines that looked like they had a butt muscle on them, and do some reps on that. Well let me tell you, I have come a lonnnnng way. Annie has given me confidence in the gym, from deadlifting and squatting more than the guys to actually understanding how my body is moving. Deciding to do personal online training was the best decision for me! She holds me accountable and gives me the encouragement I need to get to the gym when I just don’t feel like getting off my couch. She is always there to answer my questions, regardless of the odd hours I decide to go to the gym and really makes sure I am doing the movements correctly before adding more weight.

Working with you has been the best decision I’ve made in a while! I love having a plan, some accountability, and the feeling that somebody’s looking out for me, and I know all your ladies must feel the same way. It’s a really unique thing that you do with a really unique personal approach with all the right values.

"I have worked with 2 other coaches before you. And let's just say you are ONE MILLION times more helpful, educated and organized. I don't really know how to put a price on something that I just feel like everyone NEEDS."

The workouts in the program are fun, and designed in a way that I could tell from week to week that I was getting results. Annie was always readily available to take my questions and support me through this 6 weeks journey. I definitely recommend this to anyone wanting to quick start their strength journey. It takes sweat and work, but the rewards are priceless. I've reconnected to my body and strength, and I'm ready for more!"

Hi, I’m Maggie! A 25 year old washed up athlete. I was a Division I runner who dedicated my whole life to working out. Once I graduated and moved on to the next chapter in my life I continued to work out. Using the knowledge I learned during undergrad, from my coach, and from my strength coach I built a program and trained myself.

But I’m a little unique. I have Lyme Disease, which causes my body to act and respond to stresses a lot differently. My legs are what have the most symptoms. If I walk too far, stand for too long, squat, DL, whatever my legs will DIE. Become very weak, swell up, and hard for me to do daily activities. So because I knew about this and my limits I just completely avoided my legs. YUP, I skipped leg day....everyday!

After doing this for 2 years I grew tired of the same things. Same upper body workouts, and working out with “bros” I plateau’d and just was overall not happy. I finally, reached out to Annie, and told her my whole story. She replied to me with tons of questions and information to help me. We grew a trust and I joined her 1:1 team.

Since day one, Annie has treated me as an athlete. She has not labeled me as my condition. Over the 4 months I have worked with her she changed my life. She knew I was, and still am, nervous about my legs, so she has added in very few low body exercises slowly to see how I respond AND LET ME TELL YOU I am now able to lift with my legs! Recently, I took my first running strides in 4 years! 🙌🏼 I feel stronger as a whole because I stopped being scared of what could happen.

Annie, has been there for me every step of the way, has been my support and encouragement. She has helped me make tremendous strides in the gym, but also in my personal life. Since joining her team, I have become more confident in myself in and out of the gym. I have learned to embrace who I am and love every part of that. She has helped me become a better person, live life more, and regain my love for working out.

"Since day one, Annie has always treated me like an athlete."

Maggie Russell

On those days where I had a bad lift, or if I’m having a hard time in my graduate program, or if I’m just so freaking excited about my new PR, Annie is the one I turn to. She has become a great friend and has offered amazing advice.

In just 4 months, I have made incredible accomplishments, being on her team. I cannot wait to see what else my body can do!

11/10 recommend this girl to be your coach!

Deciding to get 1:1 training with Annie is the best decision I've ever made. PERIOD. Not only for my physical health, but my mental health as well. I'm not only getting physically stronger every single week, but when I feel down or upset about my progress or my gains, I have an understanding, warm, and bad ass coach at my back rooting me on (or giving me the kick in the ass I need). It's been 5 months with Annie's programming and I still look forward to every day at the gym. I am confident that what I'm doing is going to yield the results I want and I leave the gym more energized than before! My body LOVES the workouts!!! I've never had more energy or more confidence....EVER.

I've been a lifelong athlete. Played 3-4 sports each year ever since I was 3-years-old and began power and olympic lifting by the time I was 13-years-old. I fell in love with it. The technique, the heavy weight, the results, everything! I broke my high school weight lifting records and was known as "the super strong girl". I was fortunate enough to be able to continue my athletic and lifting career as a track and field athlete at the University of Portland. Here I was coached by some of the best humans in the world, who have vast knowledge and patience in developing not only my ability as a weight lifter, but becoming a better human as well. Between you and me I would always choose the weight room over the track any day (it was obvious to all my coaches too). My fitness journey with Annie also began at the University of Portland when we were both dabbling as interns in the weight room, correction: I was dabbling, Annie knew exactly why she was there. This was where I quickly discovered that I did not like writing programs for other people and where Annie, as you know, LOVES writing programs and she's one of the best in the industry. My respect and awe of her work ethic, humility, and drive were established then and have continued til this day. During that time she started creating the lifting program for the track team and thus initially became my coach almost 6 years ago (whoa!). After collegiate sports I took some time off from running and the gym -- burn out is real folks. Then when I heard that Annie was creating online lifting programs I immediately signed up. There is no other person that I trust who knows my lifting background, coaching style, and knowing who trained her made all the difference to me and my goals.

Fast forward after 2 years of being with her and I was the the most fit, had great body composition, and was super strong. Then Physician Assistant school came and I stuck with Annie through the grueling 2.5 years that PA school is. This is where my body changed due to the stressors of school and sitting in a chair for 12 hours a day 5 days a week for an entire year (that's not an exaggeration).

"I trust her. I trust her knowledge. I trust her plan."

kelsey bestall

My hips changed, my tissues changed, everything became frustrating from a fitness standpoint. But I had Annie at my back, always supporting me as we both were trying to figure out balance and how to maintain a somewhat healthy lifestyle for me through school. My body would have suffered a lot more during PA school if I did not have her as my coach or if I had given up on training completely. She modified everything to make fitness manageable for me. I will always be grateful for that.

Fast forward again. Now I'm a working as a Surgical Physician Assistant. I spend long days on my feet. BUT I lift heavy 3+ days a week and am re-learning my body post PA school. I'll never be the D1 athlete again, I'll never be what I was before PA school, or during PA school, but having Annie in my corner and traversing my changing fitness and strength with me, makes these changes SO much easier. She knows how my body has felt over the past 6 years and has watched my results and motivations change. She knows what I used to be, where I am now, and continues to see potential in me. She is my peripheral fitness brain who I love collaborating with or sharing things I learn in the health industry with. I trust her. I trust her knowledge. I trust her plan. I definitely give my "medical seal of approval" for anyone who knows how to lift and wants a professional coach to help you along the way. She's the real deal and making big waves.

Before working with Annie, my workouts were inconsistent and weren't getting me any stronger. My problem was not that I didn't want to go to the gym but that I was putting everything else before me (I'm also a mom, entrepreneur, and regular human being). Because I didn't have the time or expertise to write my own programs, I went to the gym and did whatever the heck I felt like that day. I wasn't improving and I always felt like I wasn't doing enough. Annie holds me accountable to myself and makes sure I prioritize time for ME. I've made more strength progress in 2.5 months than in the last two years and I know that everything she programs is for a reason. She's smart af, I trust the heck out of her, and she's SO FREAKING FUN to have in my corner.

On a personal note...

Aside from being smart AF, hilarious, and an overall good human, you've helped me in ways you couldn't have known. When we started working together I was having a miscarriage. The day after my first "test" workout, I was in the hospital because I passed out from so much blood loss. In the midst of all of this, I desperately wanted to feel like my body was strong. I wanted someone to help me feel better. I wanted to feel capable and honor myself. Your programs were that lifeline.

"I've made more strength progress in 2.5 months than in the last two years."

Stacia Ashe

At the time, I could barely justify paying you this amount of money monthly. On my business? Sure. On my family? Heck yeah. On myself? Gulp. Investing in this program has helped me see the value in just that. Everyone wants to talk about self-care but THIS is what my self-care looks like. I'm showing up (even if I miss some of the workouts) and proving to myself that I do what I say I'm going to do. Having your check-ins goes so much further than, "Did you work out today?" It's bled into the way I show up for myself in business. I take myself more seriously. I'm a better, more confident human.

And then there's this part...

Having your programs and seeing progress again has shifted the way I walk into the gym. I can't tell you exactly what has happened but I'm not sad anymore. I feel strong. I feel empowered. I have fun.

Seriously. Thank you.

Oh, and P.S. My body looks hotter than it ever has. Even after 2ish pregnancies.

I LOVE working with you! You make me curse and feel great at the same time. I feel like I’m getting in a QUALITY workout. Things were a little rough in the beginning for me, but only because this little monster was sucking all my energy so it could grow (preggo problems). I was inconsistent. I went home to sleep instead of the gym. BUT, you didn’t treat me any different. You understood. You cheered me on. Told me it will get better. And guess what. I’m feeling better! Second trimester is much different. More energy. Can’t wait to see how I progress with consistency. We haven’t had to modify much yet, but I have faith that we will make things work as the belly grows. Also, I feel like you’re preparing me in the best way possible for labor (insert crazy, laughing, nervous emoji). You have all the smarts girl, I’m just trusting the process (YOU)!

Q.uestions

Is there a start and end date?

Your program will start once we get through the assessment process. We shoot for two Monday's after you sign up. Your contract "ends" after your 12 months, but you'll be offered to re-sign if you're loving it!

is there a trial phase? I want to make sure we're a good fit.

That is what the application process and Built By Annie are for.  One-on-one is a 12 month membership because we are committed to one another for that time. If you aren't sure you're ready to commit, try Built By Annie to get to know my training style, the fitbot, and my philosophy. You can always apply for personalized at any time.

What if I need to cancel?

If you think there might be a need to cancel, this is not the membership for you. I make very clear what you can expect and WHO this membership is for. WE are in this together my friend. I'm not cancelling on you, and you're not cancelling on me.

How often will i hear from you?

I check the fitbot weekly (often more). That's when you will get video analysis of your lifts I request to see + response to any comments or questions you had during your lifts.

I check in with you once per week but you are more than welcome to shoot me a text throughout the week!  I speak very candidly with my clients.

DO I NEED EXPERIENCE LIFTING WITH BARBELLS?

One-on-one online training is for a woman who is not trying to win a powerlifting meet anytime soon, or a bikini competition.  She is somewhere in between. She wants to move well, feel strong, and wouldn't hate looking better naked. She has lifting experience, but doesn't want to write her own programs.

when do i get access to the program?

Fitbot programs are assigned between Friday and Sunday, the programs begin on Monday's.  The second you are assigned your program you can view it + you continue to have access to it even after you get new phases.

WHEN DOES MY PAYMENT COME OUT?

The same date you signed up on for the remainder of your membership.

Who is Personalized not for?

A woman with little lifting experience who really needs an in person trainer. A woman who questions whether she can make the financial investment in her health and fitness. A woman who is not already spending 4-5 hours per week lifting and exercising.

how often do the workouts change?

You get a new phase each month  These programs are PERSONALIZED. Like legitimately personalized. I write programs all the time that have one week with barbell and dumbbell work, while the next week is bodyweight and cardio because the client is traveling and that's what she has. Then back to barbells and her normal gym the next week.  These programs are designed with REAL life in mind. We are in this for longevity and I make training easier for you.
