the blog
If you know me, you know I love instagram and think it’s the fastest way to build an audience who trusts you and will buy from you.
You also know I am a lover of email marketing and think that’s where most of your sales should come from.
Today, we discuss three ways to get leads or create warmer leads, and turn them into customers. All of these can be applied through social media or email marketing. So, keep an open mind.
Any time I get asked about how I built out my 1:1 roster, this topic comes up.
For me, this was a low barrier to entry and effective. I was already doing the work. It was simply one more step to document it and then share.
Have other behind the scenes?
SHARE IT – people love to see behind the scenes. And this approach allows you work to do the selling FOR you. It’s less direct sales. It says “this is what we do, come see, like it? Stay”
A few of my 1:1 biz clients back in the day were BOSSES at this. Better than I ever was.
On Instagram, specifically they would keep people who had inquired in one inbox, either primary or general, and keep all other DM’s in the other inbox. This obviously takes organization and effort, but it also keeps all of your leads in one place. Which I think is 500% worth it if you are still trying to build your roster.
When it comes to email this is super simple. You can just star and save emails, or put them in an actual folder if you use a Gmail account.
In terms of actually following up, you can follow up on a monthly basis, or simply reach out to these people when you are opening spots.
But do not be afraid to follow up. I believe I mentioned on another podcast that I’ve now hired one or two people for certain tasks, simply due to the fact that they followed up with me. People get busy, sometimes timing really isn’t good, but they have stayed in your ecosystem, and it never hurts to check in.
This is possibly the lowest hanging fruit. I’m looking to sign more clients. So don’t sleep on it.
We most commonly see this in the business world with workshops and master classes. But it can absolutely be applied to the world of online health and fitness. Can you host a simple challenge, accountability group, or even a master class about goalsetting, or getting through the holidays or prepping for summer.
The upsell:
Don’t beat around the bush. People appreciate transparency. If you were going to upsell them or offer, something more, let them know early on in the process.
You have options, and you have more leads in your audience then you probably realize. Hopefully one of these appeals to you or gives you some ideas.
All three of these ways involve getting people to start a conversation with you, and then you keep those people somewhere. If you can get them off Instagram and onto email, that’s ideal.
