But that doesn’t mean it’s always easy. On many platforms, we need to pump out content on a daily basis. That can seem daunting. But when you think about it, it really can be quite simple.
I want you to think about it as bite size pieces of helpful information – that ideally happens to be entertaining as well. You have ENDLESS things to say – I guarantee it. And part of establishing a recognizable brand that known for “x” is, quite frankly, saying the same thing, or addressing the same topics over and over again from different angles. So if you ever find yourself thinking “I don’t have anything new to say,” or “I’ve already posted about that, I don’t need to say that again,” FALSE. Say it again, from a different angle. Or shoot, repeat yourself! Repost something, recreate it. That’s the name of the game my friend.
If you’re anything like me, you batch content or at the very least understand the value and approach of batching content (creating multiple pieces in one sitting – putting on your content creation hat if you will). But every once in a while, you sit down to batch weeks of content and don’t know who you are or what you do anymore. It can be a rather frustrating and even demoralizing situation.
1. Take in content OUTSIDE your field
This can spark ideas and creativity for YOUR FIELD. Mute or stop taking in content from other coaches in your field. This will just lead to comparison or accidentally copying or sounding like someone else; rather than honing in on your own message and creative process.
2. Move within your expertise
Lifting, running, mobility, rehab, nutrition, habit change – spend time HERE and tune in. There is content everywhere and you can capitalize on your personal experience applied to your audience at large.
3. Revisit old content
People have NOT seen everything you’ve already created. Repurpose it, approach it from a new angle. Re-use it as is.
4. Talk to clients
My clients provide content creation all the time. I will look at client notes, conversations and testimonies if I am ever in a creation funk. It reminds me of own approach as a coach – of my philosophy and my mission. The same will likely be true for you. If we’re having these conversations with our clients, then more people would probably benefit from the topic. Don’t sleep on leveraging that opportunity.
Remember that content begets content. Keep creating and you’ll find your groove.
What do you do when you hit a content creation wall?
