I’d hate for you to make the mistake of creating that content to appease an algorithm, rather than creating Reels for YOUR AUDIENCE and brand.
At this point, most people have had access to Reels for a year. If education is a part of your brand, it can feel difficult or even impossible to compete with hilarious voiceovers or viral dances. And even worse, it can feel like you have to do these things in order to stay relevant.
YOU DON’T. But sitting static in front of the camera teaching how to count macros isn’t it either.
So, how are you supposed to meld entertainment and education? Because that is 100% what needs to happen if you plan to use reels to grow on the gram + serve your current followers.
First off, be yourself. The goal here is to find an approach to reels that is authentic. Not to try and be something you’re not.
Think about reels more like blog, email, or youtube – HEADLINES, how to’s, tips and tricks, keys and secrets, myth busting. If you haven’t, I highly suggest making a list of digestible, quick, bite size content ideas that you can present via reels.
You can do this straight up, while walking down the street, or by using two personalities (a conversation to demonstrate something.
Take a look at the Reel below and you’ll see some of my suggestions in action.
What is something people want to know or would find helpful? Make your life easier by creating a SERIES, part 1, part 2, part 3 etc. Find something that can be applied to many posts (technique breakdown, lifting tip, habit hacks etc).
1. GET TO THE POINT – What are you teaching?
2. Cater to short transitions
3. Use different perspectives or props.
BONUS: Use a call to action (just like I did to get you here!). Add more tips or takeaways in the caption.
