Building a sustainable business is more complex than one might think. So allow me to be clear about what I cam referring to. You can in fact build a business that brings in a sustainable monthly income. But are you working like a dog to maintain it? That’s still an accomplishment, but not ideal. I think we can all agree on that.
Thus, I am referring to when you have enough consistent skin in the game that you can make legit quarterly income projections. When you know what to do to get ‘x’ amount of clients. When you make that transition from working for your biz to working on your biz.
You’re going to want to save this one.
It’s a very cool place to reach in biz when you feel like you have some level of predictability. That’s to be celebrated, if you’re there. Congrats.
We must consider that your “sustainability” is dependent on what lifestyle you live and what income you need to be “sustainable.” Your standards are individual to you and what you want from your business. Even if we’re all in the health and fitness industry.
To see indicators of whether or not you are building or have built a sustainable biz, look at the following.
You either need:
▪️Long term (3+ month) MRR [monthly recurring revenue] AND/OR
▪️Large scale pay in full launches that can generate revenue that will last you 3+ months (for example).
These are not your only options but they have clear potential to create long term sustainability and profitability in your business.
The predictability of growth comes with trial and error, and experience.
Scenario: You build a waitlist for an offer. You launch (open enrollment) 3 times. And you can see the average open rate, click rates, sales page views, applications and/or enrollments from THREE enrollment periods! That’s great!
Now you’ve got data in order to make future projections for enrollments and income. This is ONE example. The moral of the story is: Repeating systems. Tracking systems. Then we can make educated estimate growth projections. Make sense? Let me know below!
