T or F – You’ll Look Like a Man if you Lift Weights?

Let’s be honest. Bodybuilding and crossfit have made women everywhere think that they will look manly if they lift weights.  Now, I believe we are headed in the right direction in busting this myth.

Which is why I welcome you into the hot topic of women looking like men if they lift weights.

Whichever side you stand on; this is worth a read.

YOU WON’T LOOK LIKE A MAN IF YOU LIFT WEIGHTS.

I repeat. You will NOT look like a man if you lift weights. Read on.

 

 

 

First off, I’d like to define lifting weights in the terms which I am referring to:

A woman who lifts weights or takes part in resistance training 4-5 days per week, with balanced body-part exercises during a week. I am not referring to crossfit…

Most of these reasons fall under simple genetic differences between men and women.

#1: You don’t have enough testosterone or growth hormone {the main two hormones that promote muscle growth}.

#2: You probably aren’t lifting enough weight for long enough periods of time for enough days per week to look like a man.

#3: You have a lot of estrogen {the hormone that make’s women “fatter” than men}.

#4: You’re not eating nearly enough protein to put on and retain the muscle mass of a man.  Even if you were, you wouldn’t look like a man…

#5: You’re in fact NOT a man.  You’re built like a woman.

Women who look like men, are doing HIGH volume upper body work with heavy weight and they are training A LOT harder and more often than you…most likely.

There you have it my friend.  Go lift some weights and embrace your fearless womanhood!
