For some reason, probably due to business coaches in the industry, the desire for or standard of reaching 10k months is a thing for health and fitness professionals. Wanting to reach your first or multiple 10k months is not a bad thing. It’s not a good thing. It’s just, a thing. Completely neutral in my opinion. But if you have this desire, consider a few things.
$10,000 revenue is different than $10,000 profit. Your business generated 10k a month is not the same as you getting paid 10k a month. And one 10k month is awesome, and should absolutely be celebrated (I remember mine vividly). But one 10k month doesn’t mean that is your new monthly average or baseline.
These are the conversations I wish I saw back in 2015 when I was getting started. So, we’re having it now.
Let’s say you want to make $10k per month – it ain’t going to happen through manifestation my friend. It’s going to happen through math and marketing. How many clients will it take to generate that profit? And at what price point? Is that feasible for you? I don’t know. Only you can answer those questions. But I encourage you to look at them honestly because it will direct you however you need to be directed. Perhaps you need to change your business model, or even your signature offer/service.
Currently have a 1:1 business client making 11k per month ALONE with only 1:1 running clients. It can be done. BUT, I wish more coaches “who coach coaches” were transparent with:
1. Have you reached an AVERAGE OF 10K months? Because frankly that will happen with variable income before consistent actual 10k+ months happen.
2. How many clients does that look like, at what price point?
3. Is that revenue generated from people paying in full or monthly recurring revenue?
4. Do you have an assistant coach or coaches, scaling to memberships? What are the program structures and expenses?
These are super important questions to ask and be aware of when seeking that 10k/month goal. I only say these things to keep it real. Because again, I wished I would have had that information when starting out.
From what I have seen, conversations I’ve had, and personal experience: You’re *likely* not reaching 10k CONSISTENT months alone with a 1:1 business model in health and fitness. If you do, you’ll be at your ceiling. This is not the case for EVERYONE. But punch those numbers and entertain what that realistically looks for you.
