In one way or another, most women I work with or have witnessed on social media talk about being “toned”.

More specifically, they want to be TONED BUT NOT BULKY.

Now I know this has been addressed by several ladies in the industry, but that doesn’t keep me from sharing my two cents with you.

If getting rid of all cellulite is the end goal, prepare yourself for a sad life.  You will in fact never be good enough; and even if you do get rid of all cellulite, the probability of you feeling accomplished is not super high my friend.

Cellulite is a bitch.  It is unfortunate that our society and world has skewed the definition of beauty.  Know that you are not alone in your insecurities.  Even your trainer gets sucked into the fitness facade from time to time.

Annie Miller of Fitdesignbyannie on why you're not getting results

“I want to weigh 120 pounds.” Where the hell do women get this number from? I recently talked about this with Steph Gaudreau for the Women’s Strength Summit.  I had this UH-MAZING female nutrition professor in college. You know, one of those ladies who descended from heaven to teach what she was SO INSANELY passionate […]

Annie Miller of Fitdesignbyannie on accepting your weight shape and size

Let’s just get right to it. Media is all around us; Instagram, Facebook, Pinterest, twitter, snapchat, you name it. You can find any type of woman you want on those platforms right? Who do you look at as inspiration?  Who do you compare yourself to? Analyze why you follow certain ladies on social media or […]

Annie Miller of Fitdesignbyannie on Comparison or Motivation

Ever feel like you’re giving it your all? Like you’re doing everything you can? But it’s not working out? I’ve got a little exercise I learned in group counseling years ago. I use it to this day.  The more you implement into your life, the easier it becomes. Write down the top five places your […]

Annie Miller of fitdesignbyannie on how to identify your priorities

IF YOU GET YOUR 8 HOURS OF SLEEP, YOU’RE WINNING. You’re not lazy. There is nothing wrong with you. You are actually Hi, Annie here.  I love sleeping. When people describe themselves as a “night” or “morning” person I never understand…because I could not stay up late for the life of me and I HATE […]

Sleep more and get better results

First off, I’d like to define lifting weights in the terms which I am referring to:

A woman who lifts weights or takes part in resistance training 4-5 days per week, with balanced body-part exercises during a week. I am not referring to crossfit…

Most of these reasons fall under simple genetic differences between men and women.

Reason 1: You don’t have enough testosterone or growth hormone {the main two hormones that promote muscle growth}.
